Best Practice Guide at a Glance

The Best Practice Guide (BPG) is one of the deliverables of the project and it was developed when the action plans of the pilot tourist establishment, in each of the 3 countries, was completed.  The Best Practice Guide developed can support tourist establishments to switch effortlessly from Single-Use Plastics to environmentally friendlier and cost-effective market alternatives through the findings of the pilot samples. The BPG also provides an overview of the impacts of plastic on human and environmental health, presents the results of the pilot studies, reviews the available SUP alternatives and their environmental impact based on the DST and replicates the recommendations made in the individual Action Plans. Finally, the report summarise the lessons learnt from the project and apply them to the tourism industry, as a whole and other relevant industries, to guide them in a transition towards a more environmentally sustainable management style.

The Best Practice Guide will help to ensure that the operations of tourist establishments across Europe are in line with the requirements outlined in the EU SUP Legislation.

The Best Practice Guide of the project is provided in two different forms: the first version to be the shorten one, mentioning the most significant parts (BPG at a glance) and the second version to be the full version of the BPG describing the full methodology and main characteristics of the project and the project outputs.
