of the project

“Reducing the Consumption and Disposal of Single-use Plastics (SUP) in the Tourism Industry in Cyprus, Greece and Malta – 2018-1-0572” – SUPMed in Malta

Did you know?

An online decision-support tool (DST) has been developed and successfully tested by pilot samples in the three regions for assisting tourist establishments to switch from Single-Used Plastics to environmentally friendlier and cost-effective market alternatives. All tourist establishments can benefit from using the tool and simultaneously complying with the EU Directive 2019/904.

During this major conference, the following topics will be discussed:

  1. Information about the project and its implementation progress
  2. The contribution of EEA and Norway Grants to the project
  3. The Single Use Plastic Directive and local legislation
  4. The development of the DST and what can be achieved
  5. Preliminary results from pilot tourist establishments in Malta, Cyprus and Greece participating in the project
  6. Bespoke action plans and recommendations for tourism establishments
  7. Networking (Q&A Session)

You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Registration shall close on Friday 1st July. Food and drinks will be provided to all participants at the conference venue. Due to limited seating capacity, attendance at the venue shall be on a first come first serve basis. The rest of the participants will be given a Microsoft Teams link to join the session online. The online link will be provided to such participants following registration.
